FUNCTION:
The WISD Sales Resources Writer II is responsible for responding to request for proposals (RFPs), due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), presentations and developing other sales support materials to generate new business and retain clients across all business lines of the Wealth and Institutional Services Division (WISD), including Wealth Advisory Services, Global Capital Markets, M&T Securities and M&T Insurance Agency in the areas of Investment Management, Employee Benefits, Trust and Custody services.
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interact with sales teams, relationship managers, investment advisors, product managers, performance team, subject matter experts, senior management to develop winning proposals and presentations
  • Interact with legal & compliance to ensure that proposals and presentations are fully compliant with all related laws and regulations
  • Interact with marketing to ensure consistent messaging and brand delivery across WISD
  • Maintain ownership of all assigned projects through sales cycle
  • Ensure the content library includes all relevant questions/answers and the answers are up to date and accurate
  • Ensure internal reporting is complete and accurate for deal flow
  • Work with subject matter experts to enhance existing content and create new content when changes occur in offerings
  • Utilize internal and external systems to research new business opportunities
  • May be involved in projects related to strategic initiatives of the Firm
  • May have supervisory responsibility
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite; design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis; identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
 
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The WISD Sales Resources Writer II is responsible for supporting WISD business units in new business development, as well as client retention by responding to request for proposals (RFPs), due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), presentations and developing other sales support materials.
 
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • May have supervisory role for lower level positions on the Sales Resource Team (WISD Sales Resources Writer I)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or in lieu of degree, seven years of relevant experience
  • High quality standards, meticulous attention to detail, ability to multi-task and strict adherence to deadlines
  • Proposal writing experience preferred
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Highly flexible and adaptive to change
  • Some exposure to financial services, banking or investment management
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Self-starter with ability to recognize and implement new initiatives when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to create presentations and other sales proposal materials that pointedly respond to identified client needs
 
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • A solid understanding of investment management products and services
  • Solid writing skills, including editing and proof reading abilities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Financial services background
  • Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in software programs utilized by the department (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe plus any noted industry software)
